Cheesy Cheese

Post # 2… Ahhhhh!! What do I write about? What do I say? Should I start talking about my favorite restaurant already? What do I do? I decided I will start with the last thing I ate, seems like a good place to start, especially since it was absolutely DELICIOUS!

Midtown is a relatively new area in Miami, it’s where you will find all the hipsters, the artists, the creative people, and all the cool new restaurants. While I was driving around midtown looking for a food truck (completely different post all together) I decided to go to The Cheese Course. It’s in the corner of an Condominium, and what I wouldn’t do to live there, you can either sit inside or outside with their beautiful flowers creating a natural and garden type feeling while you eat. Inside they have beautiful displays of cheese, wine, and desserts, you can even pick up a cookbook or wine magazine while you wait for your food.

Mmmmmm Food…. Let’s get to the good part. Lately I have been craving a good cheesesteak in Miami, The Cheese Course offers one so I had to order it. No offense, Rocky Balboa and Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, but this was the best cheese steak I have ever had! Now this wasn’t your regular kind of cheese steak, not at all. The meat was served medium rare and was cooked with onions and mushrooms. Rather than your classic cheese whiz it had creamy delicious taleggio cheese and rather than a soft loaf of bread all your glorious meat and cheese were mounted on a warm crusty baguette. As your about to bite into this wonderful creation you start smelling all the aromas of the meat and it’s drippings, then you bite and boom! It’s amazing! “Hi, can I order another sandwich? Thanks!” Their take on a cheesesteak is more gourmet, more my style, just more delicious! Thinking about it makes me want to shimmy in my chair.

I enjoyed my sandwich is an Orangina, though a glass of wine would have been better, but I had to go back to work. I know, I know, waaa waaaa. But believe me that not even Debbie Downer could bring me down from my meat and cheese high! I can’t wait to go back and try the rest of their sandwiches.

La Gorda!

Let me start off by saying that Gorda is a term of endearment in the Hispanic Culture… But if you ever call me gorda to my face I will smack you!

Well now that we have that out of the way, let me tell why I created this blog. Ever since I could remember I have had a love affair with food. At the age of 7 my teenage aunt would bribe me with McDonald's so that I wouldn’t tell my mom all the trouble we would get into. And let me tell you something, it worked! I would do anything for an apple pie a la mode and a cheeseburger. The older I get, the more sophisticated my palette has become, though I will still buy hot dogs from any street vendor. Food should be both fun and mind-blowing!

I live in Miami and the food scene is ever evolving, there is always a new hot spot, a new trendy bar, and a new restaurant to try. My goal with this blog is to eat Miami... literally! I want to try as much food as I can whenever I can. Though this won’t be confined to the restaurants in Miami Wade County only, I’ll take you on my journey through all the yummiest places in the land. Please follow if you want to go with me on my journey of flavor, if not,  go follow some skinny bitches blog about exercising.

Til’ we eat again,
